Don't be fooled by our small staff size. It actually takes OVER 70 VOLUNTEERS to make Sunday services happen at Rain City Church and this crew has the pleasure of empowering & equipping that incredible army to best serve YOU this Sunday!
Hi. I’m Jesse. And sadly I am not the heir to a syrup empire, but I am the Lead Pastor here at Rain City Church. My wife, Marisa, and I started this church in 2011 with a small group of dedicated folks, no real idea how to start a church, and the hope of creating a place where spiritual orphans, misfits and burnouts could feel at home. It’s been incredible to get a front row seat over these past years to see how God has grown this church and is transforming the messiest of lives and turning perfect strangers into a family.
I’m a graduate of Azusa Pacific University and am originally from California which is why I still root for my beloved Dodgers, but I’ve fully embraced the Seahawks and am a proud 12th man.
I live in Kirkland, WA with my wife, Marisa, our three kids, Liam, Finn and Harper, and our dog Maple Syrup.
Oh, and I forgot to mention one of my most important achievements: I was the Sit & Reach champion of my 7th grade class.
I have the pleasure of overseeing the staff, the day-to-day business operations and development, and get to speak from time to time, too. I’ve been married to the wonderful Wendy Woll for 20 years and counting, and we’re having a blast raising our two kids Cooper and Ava. I’m a PNW native, born and raised in Snohomish, Washington, and absolutely love this area.
I graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Psychology of Human Development.
Fun fact: I’m also a self-taught audio recording nerd and musician.
When Jesse and I started this church I specifically remember saying that I would do anything but work with kids... Turns out God has a great sense of humor and had a different plan for my life. After reluctantly jumping into the Nursery at Rain City, I became completely hooked on working with kids. It has been my deepest joy and pleasure to watch kids discover that God loves them more than they can even imagine and to watch as they develop a relationship with God that goes beyond Sundays.
I’m a graduate of Azusa Pacific University and have worked in the film industry, the music industry and founded a non-profit fighting human trafficking, and recently started a side business doing Disneyland vacation consulting and designing my own line of Disney-inspired clothing.
At night you can find me reading, binge-watching Netflix, heading out to see a movie, on my laptop, or just plain passed out on the couch.
When you see my name I know what you’re thinking, and I don’t mean to disappoint you, but no I am not a hard drinking Russian mobster. I serve as the Youth & Young Adults Pastor here at Rain City Church and I love that my job allows me to be a part of some of the most pivotal years of a young person’s life, and it gives me the excuse to act like a kid sometimes, too.
I started serving with Young Life 8 years ago, while I attended Colorado Mountain College studying Business Management & Marketing.
I am originally from California, but feel like right at home in the PNW with my wife Kelsie, my two sons Zephaniah, and Krew, and our two dogs. I am a coffee nerd, music geek, and Mexican food lover.
Hi! My name is Goose and I lead the operations teams for Rain City. We make sure all of our gear in the trailers makes it to the school in time, gets set up and tore down every Sunday.
My wife Emily and I have been at Rain City since 2015 and we have loved it ever since. We now have a wonderful year and half old that loves to play with trucks, watch Curious George and to terrorize the nursery helpers every Sunday.
I went to high school up in Mill Creek and later moved to Southern California and attended Vanguard University in Costa Mesa. I like to restore old things and now I am working on a 65 Vespa that’s pretty sweet.
I have the great job of being Jesse and Matt's assistant (never a dull day with these two!) and help oversee RCC Groups as well as lead the Print and Count teams. My husband and I found Rain City when we moved back to Washington from Southern California and from the moment we walked in the doors we felt like we were home.
I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with my Business Management degree.
My husband, Goose, and I have a son named Ezra who is a busy toddler that keeps us on our toes. My perfect day would be spent driving through this beautiful state while blasting 90's pop music (because hello, N'Sync, Backstreet, 98 Degrees...).
Hello! I'm Bethany Frank and I love you. I have the honor of leading the Hospitality team at Rain City Church (that is, unless you don't feel welcome, then that's the team that Goose leads). My favorite thing about my role is meeting new people every week and helping them get connected to a really special community! I seriously can't wait to meet you!
I am a PNW girl, born and raised, that loves iced americanos, music, laughing, my gym, and jigsaw puzzles (although I haven't been able to do a puzzle in about 4 years, because of children).
My husband, Kyle and I live in Bothell with our 2 beautiful kiddos, Rainier and Eleanor.
I’m often guilty of using way too many exclamation marks, rocking a messy bun (because I have two littles) and people often assume that I dot my i's with a heart. Ha!
I’m originally a Colorado girl, but I have completely fallen in love with the PNW. I graduated from Colorado Mountain College with a Bachelor's in Sustainability with an emphasis in Psychology.
My husband Nicolai and I have a houseful of two boys, Zephaniah and Krew Akiha, a Chocolate Lab, and a Great Dane. We love working together, traveling together, and sitting on a warm sunny beach (so we decided to move to Seattle...).
